YBB -The Women in Energy Fellowship 2026 offers an outstanding professional development opportunity for early-career professionals currently working in the energy sector. Hosted by the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University, this fellowship is designed to help participants strengthen leadership skills, expand industry knowledge, and build a long-term professional network.
This cohort-based fellowship focuses on career advancement, leadership growth, and energy sector expertise. Through a series of monthly in-person sessions in New York City, fellows will gain practical skills and connect with professionals and scholars working on energy and climate solutions.
The Women in Energy Fellowship aims to support professionals who want to build lasting careers in the energy sector and advance into leadership roles. The fellowship responds to the gender gap in leadership positions within the industry, where women represent a significant portion of entry-level professionals but remain underrepresented at the executive level.
Hosted by Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy, the fellowship combines research-based learning with career-focused skill development. As a result, participants will strengthen both their technical understanding of the sector and their leadership capabilities.
Importantly, the fellowship welcomes all participants regardless of sex, as the program seeks to promote equal representation at every level of the energy and climate sector.
The program includes four in-person sessions, each held on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
All sessions will take place at Columbia University in New York City.
